About twobays.net

twobays.net was first published in response to the high level of public interest in the major beach replenishment projects of 2005-2007. It is intended as a comprehensive source of regularly updated information about coastal projects large and small, for an audience that includes residents, students and coastal management teams across Dorset and beyond.

Project Funding

A large majority of the cost of groynes, beach replenishment, flood defences and other FCERM projects is funded by central government and administered by Defra and the Environment Agency (EA) as Grant-in-Aid. The EA spends some of this funding directly on manging flood risk, but also passes some on as capital grants for flood or coastal erosion defence improvements to local authorities such as BCP Council.

Up-to-date information & documentation is available at the gov.uk website – Funding for Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management in England
