The area of beach to be replenished
Short videos from the beach team
The beach is made up to a specified level and out to a specified width. The beach is being made out 50m from the seawall. In the first few weeks small ledges or cliffs were cut into the front of the beach by wave action as it sorted the new material, but these soon disappeared as the sand was moved by wind and waves into a natural beach profile.

Day 17 The first load of sand (mixed with a large quantity of water) is pumped ashore by the dredger
Day 17 Sand is moved around to trap it and keep it on the beach whilst the water flows out to sea
Day 17 During pumping excavators work to create a bund area to help trap the sand
Day 17 The dredger returns to the Swash Channel to dredge for another load to bring to the beach
Day 17 The second load is delivered into the newly created bund area
Wednesday 19 November
Day 19 Eight loads of sand were pumped ashore today
Thursday 20 November
Check up on the current location of the dredger at www.marinetraffic.com
Track the MAGNI R
