Project Overview

The repair of damaged sections of the concrete seawall and promenade at Hamworthy Park.

Project cost: £9,000 approx.

Project Description

The Borough of Poole owns the seawall which protects the promenade and park from coastal erosion. From time to time damaged sections are repaired.

This scheme saw damaged sections of the concrete seawall and promenade surfacing cut out and replaced with new materials. The works could only proceed in reasonable weather and at low tide and so the contractor was on site intermittently.

The photos (above) show the timber shuttering used to protect the new section of the seawall, just after the new concrete has been poured at low tide; and the finished works.
