We have just received this informative and beautifully presented video from our main contractor, Boskalis Westminster, who delivered the latest beach replenishment project (winter 2020/21) as part of the Poole Bay Beach Management Plan:
The project renourished seven depleted beach areas along the frontage, from Southbourne to Poole, in a £7.5 million scheme which delivered 350,000m³ of sand and beach material to the coastline.
Some 1.3km of sinkerline (underwater pipeline) stretched out to sea to connect with the Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger ‘Willem Van Oranje’ so the material could be pumped ashore and distributed along the beaches.
